2009 LANDSCAPER OF THE YEAR
RACINE, Wis. (Dec. 15, 2008) – Case
Construction Equipment today announced that Roger Grothe,
owner of Aloha Landscaping of Mendota Heights, Minn., has been
named Total Landscape Care magazine’s
2009 “Landscaper of the Year.”
The Landscaper of the Year program,
sponsored by Case, recognizes the top 12 landscapers from
across the United States. The 12 finalists were chosen from
more than 100 applicants. Each was treated to an
all-expenses-paid cruise to the Bahamas Nov. 14-17. During the
cruise, the award was presented to Grothe and Aloha
Landscaping.
Grothe said that being selected as
Landscaper of the Year was both humbling and a total rush of
excitement. “This is the culmination of years of hard work,
risk-taking and sticking to our vision – even when it didn’t
seem to make sense,” Grothe said. “This award confirmed our
belief in what we do and has energized us to execute our
strategy with more conviction than ever.”
Aloha Landscaping will be featured on the
cover and in an article in the January 2009 edition of
Total Landscape Care magazine. The other 11 finalists will
be featured in articles in the magazine throughout 2009.
“After spending several days with the
other finalists, it was hard to imagine being singled out from
such an incredible group of companies,” Grothe said.
“Innovation, strong leadership, financial success,
customer-driven strategy, team building and integrity are all
defining traits of these companies.”
Ten years ago, Grothe made the choice to
use Case equipment in his business. The choice was based in
large part on the reliability associated with the Case brand.
“Our Case skid steer loaders are working
machines and are built to last,” Grothe said. “We count on our
equipment every day and have never had any doubts that Case
will be in our corner every step of the way. We are grateful
to Case and know that much of our success over the years can
be traced back to having the right equipment, on the right
job, at the right time.”
“We are dedicated to helping all of our
customers succeed,” said Jim Hasler, vice president, Case
Construction Equipment. “Landscapers and all owner-operator
customers are some of the hardest working contractors in the
business. We are proud to sponsor a program that recognizes
these dedicated men and women.”
The Landscaper of the Year program
recognizes professional landscapers who have great reputations
with their customers, suppliers, and employees. They are also
judged on their record of giving something back to their
industry and communities through a “best practices” operation
of their businesses.
